This large-scale engineered septic system was installed to overcome hardpan conditions. Long trenches were dug and filled with 1½-inch river rock surrounding horizontal perforated pipe. The system was designed to ensure proper percolation back into the ground, despite the challenging soil profile.

For this engineered leach line system, our crew used filter fabric to fully encase the leach rock, helping prevent sand from impacting drainage. We also installed a blue tracer wire along the trench for future utility locating. This is especially helpful for long-term maintenance or if construction occurs on the site later.
